Hazard training whilst driving
Your What Car? 5 Star Instructor will always take the opportunity to reinforce your driving theory and hazard perception learning with practical training whilst on a lesson.
Know what’s required to pass
Learning for the theory and hazard perception test will take time and effort. There is no better way than to read and interpret the theory test syllabus and then practice answering the questions under mock test conditions. The theory test will be delivered on a touch screen computer. You have 57 minutes for the test. You are required to attempt 50 questions and you must score 43 correct answers to pass.
Some of the multiple choice questions will be presented to you when driving in the form of a case study. A case study shows a scenario on which five questions will be based. The subject of the scenario will focus on real life examples and experiences that you might encounter when driving.
The hazard perception part of the test is delivered on a computer. You respond by clicking a button. You will be presented with a series of 14 video clips which feature every day road scenes. Each clip will have at least one developing hazard, but one clip will feature two developing hazards.
To achieve a high score you will need to respond to the developing hazard during the early part of its development. The maximum you can score on each hazard is five marks.
You will not be able to review your answers to the hazard perception test. The pass mark for the car hazard perception part of the theory test is 44 out of 75.
You need to be successful in both theory and hazard perception to pass the test.
